Frequently Asked Questions
How many hours per week will this require?
How many hours per week do you plan to work in and on your business, initially? The Incubator program won't add to that time. It will help your time be focused and effective. In general, we recommend budgeting about 3-6 hours per week when you're in the Incubator, but you can do more and move forward faster, or less and move slower, as desired.
Do I have to complete the program before I make money?
No! We will help you enroll at least 1 paying client in your first 30 days, and we will show you how to offer, price, and sell your services while you are testing your ideas.
How long does it take to build a stable, thriving business?
With our guidance, nurses are able to verify the value of their business idea, earn at least $3000/month within 12 months, and double that within 2 years.
My Path to Thriving with My Nurse-Owned Business
Before I became a nurse entrepreneur, I was stressed out by my full-time nursing job and desperate to live a more holistically healthy lifestyle. A friend who was learning massage therapy gave me my first massage. I could feel the stress fall off my body like armor, and it woke me up to a new vision of what health could look and feel like.
Inspired by my friend, I got massage therapy training and started doing massage "on the side" of my full-time nursing job. That was in 1984. In 1989, I went into the massage therapy business full time, co-created a group practice in a medical center and reached my goal of having a balanced, healthy lifestyle. In 1993, I added health coaching to my massage practice.
My Goal Was Freedom
In 2001, I took my business 100% online and enjoyed the "laptop lifestyle."
Then in 2010, I sold my online CE business and took a couple of years off. During that time, I studied with some of the world’s top online business mentors and translated their business practices into holistic nursing business practices. During the next 10 years, I:
Founded and directed the nonprofit "HolisticNursingCE.com" (2012 - 2023)
Helped establish the nonprofit "Hawaii Yoga Institute" and served as President of the Board and then Executive Director (2015-2022)
With "HolisticNursingCE.com" mostly running itself, I served as the Holistic Nurse Practice Specialist position at the American Holistic Nurses Association (2016-2019)
I was a Health & Wellness Nurse Coach at the Atma Holistic Primary Care Clinic (2019-2021)
In 2022, the Liberated Nurse Business Incubator was born
